REDLINE LIGHTING My install

The ones that come up every year

Questions,
answered properly.

If yours is not here, ask us at the site visit. Nobody has ever been charged for a question.

Booking

Do I have to give you my phone number to see a price?

No, and you never will. The estimator gives you the number first and asks who you are afterwards, only if you want a site visit or a copy by email. That is deliberate and it is not going to change.

Is the site visit really free?

Yes, and there is no obligation attached to it. It takes about twenty minutes. Most people are not home for it — we measure, we look at access, and we send you the confirmed price.

How far ahead should I book?

Earlier than feels necessary. The eight weeks before Thanksgiving are the whole season, and there is a point every autumn where we simply run out of days. Booking in August costs nothing and holds you a week.

How long is my estimate good for?

It is not a fixed-term offer, so there is no date it expires — but it is not frozen either. The figure comes from our prices on the day you asked, and those move between seasons. If you open an estimate we emailed you, it is worked out again from the prices of the day, so it may not match the number you remember. Either way it is confirmed at the free site visit before anything is booked.

Why do you give me a week and not a day?

Because weather moves things, and we would rather hold a week we can keep than promise a Tuesday we cannot. The day gets confirmed closer to the time, and you can move it after that if you need to.

The install

Do I need to be home?

Not usually. If there is a locked gate, a dog, or you would simply rather be in, say so when you book and we will schedule it for a time that suits.

How long does it take?

Most houses are half a day. Bigger properties, or anything needing a lift, can be a full one.

Will it damage my roof or gutters?

No. Everything is clipped, never stapled, screwed or nailed. Nothing is fixed into the fabric of the house and nothing is left behind in January.

What about my electricity bill?

Modern commercial LED runs cost a few dollars across a season. It is not a number anybody notices.

When something goes wrong

A section has gone dark in December. Now what?

Tell us and we come out. On lights we supplied, that is included — there is no call-out charge and no conversation about who pays. On lights you brought us, we will always get you lit again, but a replacement part is priced before we fit it.

Are you insured?

Fully, and we will show you the certificate without being asked. We are firefighters; working at height with the right equipment is not a side of this we improvise.

What if a storm takes something down?

Call us. Weather damage in season is what the December service is for.

Afterwards

Who owns the lights?

You do, from the day they go up. Materials are paid once in your first season and they are your property after that. We store them; we do not own them.

Where do they live in the summer?

With us. We take them down in January, clean and test everything, and keep it until next autumn. There is no box in your garage.

What happens if I move?

Tell us and we will bring your kit to the new house if it is in our area, or hand it back to you if it is not. It is yours either way.

Do I have to book again next year?

We will email you in the summer with last year’s photo, this year’s price and the week we are holding for you. Saying yes is one tap. Saying nothing is also fine.
