REDLINE LIGHTING My install

No rate card, and here is why

Two numbers,
and the second one is smaller.

We would rather show you your price than a table of prices that will not match your house.

What you actually pay

Every quote we give has two components, and we never merge them into one figure.

  • Materials — paid once, in your first season. Commercial-grade lights, cut and clipped to your house. They become yours the day they go up, and you never pay for them again.
  • Labour — paid every season. Design, install, service through December, takedown, cleaning, and storage until next autumn.

Which is why the estimator shows you this year and every year after as separate numbers. The second one is the one you will live with.

What moves the price

Three things, in roughly this order.

1
How much of it there isLinear feet of roofline, how many trees, how far the fence runs. This is most of it.
2
How hard it is to reachA foot of fence and a foot of two-storey gable are the same product and nowhere near the same job. Ground-level work is the cheapest thing we do; a third-storey peak is the dearest.
3
How many storeysHeight scales the work on the house. It does not touch anything at ground level — your fence does not care how tall your house is, and we do not price it as though it does.

Why there is no price list on this page

Because it would be wrong for your house. A rate card either quotes the cheapest possible job, which nobody has, or an average, which nobody has either. The estimator asks six or seven questions and gives you a range for the actual property.

It takes about ninety seconds and it asks for no contact details at all. You see the number whether or not you ever speak to us.

What the range means

It is an estimate, not a quote, and it can change at any time. It is built from what you tell us, and houses are consistently more interesting than their owners remember — and our own prices move between seasons, so an estimate we emailed you is worked out again from the prices of the day whenever you open it. The site visit is where it becomes a number you can hold us to — twenty minutes, free, and you do not need to be there.

Then there is no materials line at all and you only ever see one number. How that works →

It costs nothing to find out

Your number, not an average

Six questions, ninety seconds, and no contact details before the price.
